The Griffins

The Griffins, which was rumored to live in the wild portions of Asia, was a creature with the body of a lion, the wings, head, and fore arms of an eagle, and pointed ears. Griffins have quite a bit of mystery and superstition surrounding them, and no one knows what is fact or fiction anymore. It was believed that the griffins pulled the chariots of the gods, that one of their feathers could cure blindness, and that their talons could be made into drinking cups that would darken if poison was present. There are three main colorings of the griffins. Some were black with red breasts. Some were white winged with blue neck feathers. Others were supposedly golden, and their feathers would show every color of the rainbow. Griffins, some what like the more common dragons, would build nests, out of gold on mountainsides. This gold they would guard jealously from mortal treasure seekers.
